COUNTERZINE One of very few legit punk records I’ve heard recently, primarily because it couldn’t care less about being a ‘punk’ record. Sometimes it’s straight hardcore, sometimes it’s post-hardcore, there are weird jazz tangents, etc. The best moments remind me a bit of Nomeansno, but they’re far from clones, which are far too common in a genre getting by mostly on raw energy. Slush got that, but they also have ideas. Favorite track: H.O.L.E..
